2010 will always go down as a year to remember for LIZZIEDOYLE.
It has been a fantastic year and it seems only fair to skip over the highlights and get a few thankyou's out there.
This year was the year that finally my first ever public exhibition opened to a wonderful heart-warming reception in little Holmes Chapel. It was a wonderful two weeks with some excellent feedback, and a great way to officially kickstart LIZZIEDOYLE. Then we travelled to the excellent Just So Festival to join them in their first year in the public eye. It really was a fantastic experience that I hope to return to year on year!
The paintings have been steadily disappearing from my studio since August and I can only thank everyone that has supported me and that now has an LD-scape hanging on their wall. I hope you enjoy looking at them everyday as much as I do.
With the New Year on my heels a huge pile of photos is piling up on my workbench to inspire many a new painting, all ready for round2. So keep an eye out for developments, until then, stay safe, be happy and a happy 2011 to you all!

a bit of an update
To fill in those of you keeping an eye on this blog.
I have now relocated and am painting during the holidays and very excited to start on my new collection of work this Christmas. Hoping to build stocks up again and spread the word ready for another exhibition come summer 2011.
I also wanted to thank everyone that supported this year's official launch of LizzieDoyle. It has been a brilliant experience and extremely rewarding to see my paintings disappear to their new homes. May it continue!
Best wishes LDx

pleasant visit to my lovely local framer today, collected quotes to get everything framed for the exhibition, now thinking of requesting the first space for the beginning of august so that the paintings can then be taken directly to Just So festival!

JUST SO
possibility of displaying work at the fabulous Just So Festival this summer!! very excited to be partnering up with such a great event. Check out their website to see what other magical things are happening
exciting news
for any of you that have followed my work over the past 12 months you will know that I have been dreaming of holding an exhibition before the summer is out for long time
and HOORAH this dream might actually become a reality very very soon.
My huge studio clearout yesterday allowed me to discover no less than FIFTEEN pieces to send to my framers, and I have another set of inspiring photos from the welsh coast that I intend to use for my current work. This will hopefully leave me with a collection of around 20 framed paintings ready to go to lots of loving contemporary homes.
This means that despite all expectations I may actually have enough to fill my local community centre where they will hang for as long as I can persuade the staff to keep them for!!
Needless to say I am very excited at the possibility and will post more updates ASAP!!

Gallery
For those of you that have found your way to my blog without viewing my website and have therefore missed the delights of my online gallery, here is a sneaky peak at what was added yesterday!
each piece stands at around 77cm x 25cm unframed. Mixed media paintings on card, using experimental techniques with ink, glue & paint. (and anything I find in the studio)
These pieces are actually the foundations of the past two years work, and have provided much inspiration for my future projects. They work great as stand alone pieces and in a variety of combination sets. As these are on card instead of MDF I expect to frame them behind perspex or glass to provide some form of protection. They are going to look so great when they finally get to hang!
The thing that amazes me about these early paintings is the energy in them, my newer work feels much more grown up and almost restrained in comparison, but having found these again I'd like to recapture some of the incredible textures and layered media to see what will happen!
making new from the old
44cm x 11cm. mixed media textiles, experimenting with machine embroidery, quilting, dyed cotton and synthetic gauzes.
A set of textiles pieces I have pulled out of the woodwork to add to my pile of things to send to the framers. Cant decide whether I want to have them framed individually or mounted as one piece.Any ideas? What would you want hanging on your wall?
[remind me to crack the iron out on these later too!]
NEW BLOG
My dear old blog had many a technical fault and so I have established this new shiny one as much easier way to follow progress over summer.
Here will be regular updates, photos from the studio, inspiration, exhibition dates, and the sneak preview at my first official business cards!
